I don’t recall a single ad on a bus, remember a single interview, or even remember hearing some big names were returning to tv in this show called Big Shots. So I guess it’s not odd the only reason I heard about this show was while watching another ABC show online. The odd thing is that it stars some well known actors. We have Dylan McDermott as the womanizer Duncan plus Michael Vartan as the newly divorced James. Rounding out the cast are Christopher Titus and Joshua Malina. As the shows synopsis says

“This is the story of four friends at the top of their game… until the women in their lives enter the room. Lines between boardroom and bedroom blur when these competitive but dysfunctional CEOs take refuge in their friendship, discussing business, confiding secrets, seeking advice and supporting each other through life’s surprising twists and turns.”

And as fascinating as that sounds shockingly the show is boring. It moves slowly with nothing interesting to keep us enthralled. I caught a few episodes which basically surround the turmoil of their relationships while they search out the missing black book of a pre-op tranny prostitute that at least two of our big shots have used in the past. The show likes to believe it’s the male version of a sex and the city or desperate housewives but the sex isn’t interesting nor are any of the relationships. A good drama can grip you fairly immediately and you become invested in the relationships but does anyone care about any of these guys? I’d be far more interested in a show about the pre-op tranny than any of them. It’s a complete miss with this show and that is a shame. I’ve liked all of these actors in other roles in the past. Maybe this show could work with a major overhaul. Perhaps making one of these guys truly single and bringing in a strong female character would perhaps save the show. Perhaps have one of them end up seeing a shrink and I’d suggest a fall from grace for one our big shots. Lastly for the love of God plz to be shaving Dylan McDermott. He looks dreadful with that crap on his face. I really dislike this show and wish I never accidentally found it. Let’s hope that the sweeps hiatus ABC placed it on turns into a true cancellation.
