Monday-The Recruiter–HBO 9/8C

The Recruiter takes viewers to a Louisiana coastal community, where we witness firsthand one recruiter’s intense struggle to enlist new soldiers into the U.S. Army. The film offers a glimpse of the human drama surrounding recruits’ decisions to enlist through its remarkable central character: the charismatic Sergeant First Class Clay Usie, one of the most successful Army recruiters working in America. Sgt. Usie firmly believes that every American should serve, and that it is his mission to recruit new soldiers from his hometown of Houma, LA. Among the young people on whom Sgt. Usie sets his sights are Lauren, Matt, Bobby and Chris, four teenagers with different reasons and rationales for joining the Army.”

Tuesday-Eureka–Sci Fi 9/8C

Eureka is a science fiction television series set in a town inhabited almost entirely by geniuses. The third season finds the DOD coming to town.

Wednesday-Lewis Black’s The Root of all Evil 10:30/9:30C

The show is in mock courtroom and features Lewis Black presiding over two people or issues going against each other like defendants and plaintiffs in a trial, with a series of comedians and guests, such as Greg Giraldo and Patton Oswalt, playing lawyers making their case why something (e.g. YouTube, beer, Oprah, etc.) is the “root of all evil.” I know it wasn’t as funny as you thought it was going to be. They can’t all be The Colbert Report but the hope is Lewis Black and the show have improved.

Thursday-Hopkins–ABC 10/9C

Pretty much billed as a real-life Grey’s Anatomy, Hopkins follows the professional lives of hospital caregivers and their patients at the teaching hospital John Hopkins.

Friday-Doctor Who–Sci Fi 8:30/7:30C

OMG WTF BBQ It’s the season finale! As I couldn’t wait to see the final episode, I erm, procurred it through other sources so I can tell you that you DO NOT want to miss this episode. Even if you’ve missed the whole season and don’t know who is the new companion and haven’t watched Doctor Who since Tennant came aboard! You do NOT want to miss it. It’s  THAT good. ALL CAPS GOOD!

Saturday-Long Way Down–Fox Reality Chanel 9/8C

Long Way Down is a television series documenting a motorcycle journey undertaken by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman, on which they rode south from John o’ GroatsScotland to Cape Town in South Africa via Europe and Africa in 2007. It premieres on Fox Reality Chanel and its worth a view.

Sunday-The Two Coreys–A&E 10/9 C

You’ve never watched this show right? I know why you haven’t but trust me there are laughs by the loads. None that they intended and many are  very much schedenfraude.  Its worth or a looksee. If it really sucks then you can turn over to Adult Swim.

1. This week TV choices should be really easy for you as its Shark Week. You should be watching that all week.  Although we can’t “live every week like its Shark week” , We can tune in when it finally does roll around. Shark Week is all week on Discovery. Tune in and don’t miss a bite.

2. The Middleman. This sci-fi smoothie show has elements of a few sci-fi items which makes it likable on a variety of levels. Except for Natalie Morales (wooden acting making Tom Welling seem less hateable). We aren’t sure if its a sure-fire hit yet but its definitely worth your time so you can decide for yourself.  Can a show on ABC Family be truly watchable? Tune in and see. The Middleman airs Monday 10/9C  on ABC Family

3.  How to Look Good Naked. I know this is mostly a chicentric show but I think everyone can take something from it. Whether you’re a chick needing to find more self confidence or a man who preys on those who have none there’s something to be found here.  Learn about women and their struggle to be beautiful in a world of supermodels and size 00. The season file premieres Tuesday at 10/9c On Lifetime

4. Project Runway. The theme of the night is green and therefore plan to see the most vivid shades of green you can ever imagine put together in fashion. I can totally understand resisting the lure of PR. It took me a few seasons to watch it but trust me there’s high drama to go along with the high fashion. By the time the episode ends you are truly interested in who wins and  you respect fashion designers more than you thought you ever would. Project Runway airs Wednesday on Bravo at 10/9c

5. Penn and Teller Bullshit! The show is still funny. For anyone who liked Robert Wuhl’s specials “Assume the Position” on HBO  then you get small doses of the same humor/information here on Penn and Teller Bullshit. Bullshit! Airs Thursday’s at 11/10C on Showtime

6. Doctor Who Season Finale on Sci Fi Channel. Sure you’re probably already procurred this episode through other means but even if you did its still a show worth watching again. Tune and give the 10th doctor plus a few of his companions some love. Airing Friday 8:30/ 7:30C on Sci Fi Channel.

7. Murder 101:the Locked Room Mystery on Hallmark channel airing 10/9C Saturday on the Hallmark Channel. Hallmark Channel? Why in the world would anyone suggest anyone watch anything on the Hallmark Channel? Are you guys sniffing paint?

Yes. Dick Van Dyke. Mmm Dutchboy!

Monday

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Relive the first time you saw live action turtles being funny, having random inexplicable accents, fighting crime, and overall being really awesome. Can you think of another cartoon to live action movie that comes close? Yeah that’s right. I didn’t think so. TMNT will be on ABC Family at 8/7C

Tuesday

Tuesday’s option was a Tossup between From G’s to Gents and Hurl.  One show seeks to help people change their outlook on life and the other wants you to be disgusted yet entertained for 30 minutes.  Sad but true the winner has to be Hurl.  Hurl will feature game show contestants eating insane amounts of food and then trying to keep it in the stomachs. Mmm yummy.  One could only imagine what the horror is like inside their bodies and luckily before the end of the show we’ll get to see it come out. Yes,  many will say its another sign of the apocalypse.  We’ve heard the same about Fear Factor, Celebrity Big Brother, and Tila Tequila’s Shot at Love but it may actually prove true here. Regardless you should at least see the first show and judge if this show makes you ready for the end.  G4 9/8C

Wednesday

Dog the Bounty Hunter. Gosh I love when a racist gets a second chance. No seriously I do. Proving that he’s apparently more buoyant than  Michael Richards.  The other recently infamous N-word guy comes back to television. Way to stick to your guns A & E. That hiatus really made me think your principles were more important than ad dollars. Actually it’ll be interesting to see who pays for advertising time during this show. That will be more interesting than anything on the show. Well unless Dog decides to go to South Compton to hunt someone down and then IT’S ON! A & E 9/8C

Thursday

Reality Bites Back is a reality spoof with comedians and it really is worth your time to watch. Its funny and it makes you realize that Comedy Central gives us a laugh or two even when The Daily Show/Colbert report take vacations away from their TV family to spend with their families who don’t create LJ Icons proclaiming their love. Michael Ian Black hosts and his mocking is among the best. You won’t regret tuning in for just 5 minutes of this show so go for it. Comedy Central 10:30/9:30C

Friday

Hell to the Yeah! Psych is finally coming back. Shawn and Gus are incredibly funny together and I’m sure this season will be just as great.  Despite the fact that apparently Gus is leaving the Psych business, I feel that somehow (as if by TV magic)  the rift will be resolved and we will continue to have fun watching them solve  mysteries together. Cybil Shepard will be adding her  insanity to the mix.  I’m sure it wont be as amusing as her appearance on a certain British television talk show but hopefully close enough. USA 10/9C

Saturday

Eli Stone. In this episode that finally brings George Michael and Eli Stone together , we find George helping a young fan. This is another of a line of really funny, charming, and entertaining shows that Eli Stone offered during its short but enjoyable season.  Since many of you probably didn’t see this episode the first time around then you might as well watch it now and realize you were pretty stupid not to watch it the first time ABC 10/9C

Sunday

The 2008 Espy’s are being hosted by JT. It’ll be a night full of sports related sports stuff with ya know sporty things happening and okay I will only be watching it for JT but that’s really enough to make it worth a viewing. He will either fall on his face with his hosting duties going all awry or he’ll be funny and interesting along with the slew of Sports and Entertainment Industry celebrities cavalcading through to honor all that ESPN has deemed award winning.
