Quick Hits: Veronica Mars Coming to a Theater Near You? 1

Aug20

Veronica Mars was created specifically for me. Seriously, let’s look at the facts;

I love noir stories. She might not have worn a trench coat, but Ms. Mars was fully entrenched in the noir sensibilities.

I went to high school. Veronica Mars was set in High School.(At least for its first two seasons)

See? You can’t repute the evidence.

So obviously I was not the happiest of campers when the show was cancelled after its third season. That season’s DVD only twisted the knife even more so with the short clip of Veronica starting the FBI training academy. Since the show ended we have been hearing rumors that Veronica Mars might make the jump to the movies, and now Michael Ausiello is adding yet another log to the fire. He is reporting that Kristen Bell and Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas recently met in his office to talk about the future of a movie.

“Kristen and I ran into each other, and we did discuss a Veronica movie,” the creator of Veronica Mars admitted. But he does go on to say that currently his plate is quite full, seeing as he is busy with the remake of his own 90′s show Cupid along with an adaptation of the New Zealand show Outrageous Fortune.

I hope this gets resolved one way or another soon though. X-Files 2 proved that fans are only willing to wait for so long before they lose interest.
