Its over! The War is over! WGA Strike Ends!
The Writers Guild announced Tuesday evening that its membership voted 3,492 to 283 to end the 3-month strike. This means that WGA members can return to work immediately and salvage some of those shows we’ve been missing. I know many of the shows won’t be back this television season and this is, of course, sad. However, I think this will be good for us all in the end. A well paid writer is a happier writer (ha!). So perhaps this means those (totally rare) once boring story lines will now be spurned on to new levels of interesting with the new residuals burning the writers pockets. I’m not asking for much out of the rest of this season. We know Heroes is a casualty. Ugly Betty might be back. Cable TV shows like Dexter are still going to be shown. Still WGA if you can give me anything for my support this season please WGA don’t let McMer die? Pretty Please? Also please talk to your SAG friends and make them aware we can’t take this happening again any time soon.
