Hannah Montana – An Experiment 1
Well I spent an entire week trying to understand the sensation that is Hannah Montana and actually learned a bit. I didn’t even know she existed until a few months ago and it seems this teen princess is everywhere you look, especially when you watch this show for an entire week. The nightmares started after the second day. Nightmares, real ones, not fake ones created to be cute in a blog, and I almost quit watching the next day. I’m kind of glad I didn’t. At first it kind of seemed like a bit of a mess. The jokes, the scripts, the overacting, Emily Osment… Yes Haley-Joel’s little sister, or him in a wig—either way, a bit disturbing at first. The entire show revolves around the premise of a young, normal teenage girl who doubles as a teen singing sensation and must keep this secret in order to continue leading a semi-normal existence. It’s this simple concept that actually works for the show. That and the fact that Hannah Montana is played by Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus’ actual teenage daughter, and who did they get to play her father on the show? Oh you probably know already it’s Mr. Achy-Breaky himself and it works. The show is littered with corny, sometimes horrible jokes, even achy-breaky jokes, believe it or not, but I’ve found myself glued to the cheesy adventures of Miley and her friends. Even little Emily Osment shines as Miley’s best friend Lily and has my vote for best acting and comic timing. Call me crazy but the songs are actually not that bad either, well as good or almost as good as anything you’ll find on a random top 40 station all over the country which is probably why her concerts sell out and cause soccer mom crazes across the country and on Ebay. I’m not saying I’ll keep watching (I will never tell!) but I know now what all the fuss is about and I dare you to watch a week of Hannah Montana and not get the least bit hooked by this infectious mess if you can get through the initial night terrors.

I did a similar thing with Hannah Montana a while back and although I don’t quite get the 1,000 dollar ticket worthyness, I can see why little girls and their moms love it. Its corny funny funsies
