Is Weeds Overgrown? 0
I didn’t watch Weeds when it initially aired. I missed the whole first season but quickly
rectified that once I realized what I was missing. What I was missing was a quirky show that starred one of the great actresses of our time whose eyes could emanate any emotion known to man. As if blessed by Angels in America Mary Louise Parker is found along with with a great supporting cast-mate of Justin Kirk. Also in the role he was born to play Kevin Nealon gives us the comedic genius character of Doug. Each episode interspered with lively but true dialogue finds a fish out of water taking to the air quite swimmingly with laughs not spared. What I loved about the show is that it seemed to be a look into a life that very well could happen. Also I love Mary Louise Parker. Honestly people give this woman an OscemyGlobe. The acting award better than the rest because she deserves one for pretty much every performance to date. Last season we found the season ending with Nancy , the family, and the business in flux. We weren’t quite sure where they’d go or what they’d do. With last season ending quickly due to the real life California fires, I hoped the new season would settle down from that rushed end. 8 episodes in and you already find some great growth from Weeds this season. You can never go wrong with adding Albert Brooks to any project. He is a comedic genius and can make changing diapers of his dying mother funny in a way that not many can. The new venue and the new job are also quite perfect. The show changes itself in a good way for new avenues. Although I’m sure many would be happy to see Nancy in her home for a few more years, I feel relocation gives way to new storylines which I’m happy to view. With 4 episodes left in this season I’m hoping that the Roy Till issue ends quickly since I have no desire to see Nancy dealing behind the bars and I sure don’t wanna see another Sopranosesque hidden wire thing. Who would take Nancy out to the woods? I just don’t wanna think about it. I also hope that we’ll see Conrad and Heylia again. Does anyone else truly want them gone forever? Not I. Weeds continues to be a show well worth watching and makes you wish Showtime would produce more TV of equal caliber to make that monthly charge sting less.
