Pushing Daisies Series Premiere: Pie-lette 1
ABC’s latest show in the new Fall ’07 lineup, Pushing Daisies is finally here. The only thing I’ll give it is that it’s beautiful, it’s quirky, it’s delightful, and it’s one I hope to watch for a really long time. As one fan said on the official Pushing Daisies website, “it’s wonderful, charming and dirty”. Ok, I’ll give it that too. Pushing Daisies is about Ned, a pie maker who has the power to bring people back from the dead, but not without life-altering consequences. Ned works with a private eye named Emerson Cod[Boston Publics Chi McBride ] and his childhood sweetheart, Charlotte “Chuck” Charles [Anna Friel ] to bring people to life in order to solve mysteries, or in Emerson’s case, to collect reward money for catching the victim’s killers.

It’s comparable to a lot of movies, such as Big Fish, Amelie, or Lemony Snicket, and if you love any of those movies, you may also love Pushing Daises.
It’s been said in a hundred blogs, you will either love it, or hate it, and there is no way this blog post can do PD justice. Program your DVR, or tune in Wednesdays, at 8pm (central time) because it’s one show you’ll have to see to believe. I recommend Pushing Daisies over any new show this season, but I do wonder how Ned went all these years without touching his dog…
