‘Live From Abbey Road’ Voted No. 1 Music Show by Me
I’ve decided to forget about the entire new fall line-up in my first post and write about one of my summer obsessions, “Live From Abbey Road“. Really, my roommate neglected to set a series recording for “Kid Nation” so I missed the third episode this week and care more to write abo
ut a great music show from the Sundance Channel. “Live From Abbey Road” is exactly what it sounds like. Three artists are featured in every episode recording live sets from the famous Abbey Road studio in London. The quality of the sound and performances are always superb, no matter how much you may not like the featured artists. And as a bonus, in between songs, the performers talk about their own styles and philosophies on music or whatever comes to mind. “Live…” will also throw in the occasional old school recording sessions with the Beatles and other famous musicians. *Score!*
Some of my favorites episodes have included John Mayer, Richard Ashcroft, James Morrison, Jamiroquai, and Gnarls Barkley. If you like music and great TV I can’t stress this show enough. Discovering “Live From Abbey Road” this summer saved me a couple hours or more a week of boredom.
